GROW is a legal mentoring initiative which pairs aspiring lawyers with legal professionals

Our story
GROW was founded by Justin Farrance who is an active advocate for social mobility, diversity and inclusion in the legal industry.
Justin runs GROW alongside Natasha Dutton and they both work as trainee solicitors at Allen & Overy in London.

Background
Mentees are assigned a mentor who is able to offer tailored advice through, generally, a monthly scheduled video/phone call, frequent email contact and, hopefully very soon, in person catch ups.
Since launching GROW at the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak we have successfully paired 1200 mentees to their own individual mentor from a wide range of law firms, chambers and in-house teams across the UK and the US.

HOW IT WORKS
To sign-up, click the Become a MENTOR or Become a MENTEE buttons at the top of this page.
We welcome mentee applications from all aspiring lawyers regardless of grades, university or background as long as applicants are over 18 years old. We ensure that mentees are allocated to a mentor that they have something in common with, be it law firm ambition, degree background, university or a member of the same underrepresented community.
Once paired, it is the responsibility of the mentee and mentor to take charge of the mentoring relationship. We expect the relationship to last for an initial period of 6 months, to be extended if both sides agree. GROW hopes that this will help foster a lasting relationship and support mentees in reaching a specific career or personal goal.

Our application form is currently closed until 1 May 2021. Anyone who would like a GROW mentor can apply then.

If we are unable to pair you with a mentor during a three month period, you can re-apply for the next cohort. There will be four cohorts a year.
If you applied before 1 February 2020, we will no longer be taking into account your application. If you were not paired and would still like a mentor, you will have to reapply on 1 May 2021 when our third cohort launches.
Thank you for your support - we can’t wait to hear from you when our sign-ups reopen!
